  • The contest for the 2022 Bulgarian Stipend in the amount of $1,000 is open ONLY to pianists of Bulgarian nationality and ages 7 to 18 as of April 17th, 2022.

Application Rules:

  • All applications must be completed and submitted via our website: before the DEADLINE – 11.59pm EST on April 17th, 2022.

  • All applicants must upload a photo, proof of age, proof of Bulgarian Citizenship (Copy of ID card, Passport or Birth Certificate) and pay the non-refundable application fee of $30 through the website’s online payment tool.

  • An email of confirmation will be received upon completing the online application form and submitting the application fee.

  • If an applicant has completed an application and paid the application fee in full but has not received and email of confirmation within 48 hour he or she should fallow up and contact the competition committee at

  • The competition committee will accept no responsibility for applications that were not received.

  • The results will be published on the website by May 15th, 2022.

Contest Rules:

  • The Stipend Contest will be held in one Video (YouTube) Recording Round.

  • The duration of the Video Recording should not exceed 15 minutes.

  • The contestant is allowed to freely choose the program, but it should consist of at least two pieces of contrasting styles.

  • Performing a work or works by a Bulgarian Composer is encouraged, but not required.

  • The Video Recording must not be edited under any circumstances.

  • All repertoire should be performed by memory and should not exceed the time limit.

  • The Jury may decide to award the Stipend in full or split between laureates.

  • The Jury's decisions are final and can not be altered in any event.




  • The MANOLOV International Competition reserves the rights to use the Video Recordings for publicity.

  • Failure to abide to any of the Rules and Regulations may result in disqualification.
